About Loving the Patriarchy

"Patriarchy" means "a society where men tend to be leaders in family, society, and politics". This doesn't mean 'women are oppressed'; this doesn't mean 'women are chattel'; this doesn't mean 'men have it easy'.

"Patriarchy" also implies a division of labor within family units where men are generally primarily employed in generating/acquiring food and income, often by labor outside the home while women are generally employed in child-rearing, food preparation, and home care, usually within the home. This doesn't mean 'women can't have jobs'; this doesn't mean 'women are to be kept in the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant'.

Anthropologists note that whether a society is patrilinear, matrilinear, etc. all known societies on earth are and have been Patriarchal. If a non-Patriarchal society has ever existed it ended so fast as to leave no trace.

Obviously Patriarchal societies have some sort of advantage that others (theoretical) types don't have.

This page celebrates the advantages of Patriarchy and dispels the myths formulated about it.
